Director I, Leveraged Finance, Global Investment Banking (VP level)

About the position The Director I, Leveraged Finance position at CIBC is a senior role within the Global Investment Banking group, focusing on managing the execution of leveraged loan and high yield bond transactions. This role involves collaboration with various internal stakeholders to provide debt financing solutions for corporate and financial sponsor clients. The Director will lead financial modeling, credit analysis, and documentation processes while mentoring junior team members. Responsibilities • Manage the day-to-day execution of live deals across High Yield Bonds and Term Loans. , • Lead internal processes and drive marketing activity alongside senior originators. , • Run financial models and complete financial and credit analysis. , • Review and structure documentation for transactions. , • Drive materials for internal approval committees and syndication purposes. , • Provide instructions and learning opportunities to junior team members. Requirements • 5-7 years of investment banking experience, preferably in leveraged finance. , • Degree educated, preferably with an MBA or equivalent. , • Knowledgeable in financial markets, credit analysis, financial modeling, and accounting principles. , • Extensive experience with leveraged finance credit documentation. , • Proficient with Microsoft Office. , • Strong verbal and written communication skills with advanced negotiation abilities. , • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects simultaneously. , • Commitment to client satisfaction and relationship building. , • Willingness to work extended hours in a high-pressure environment. , • Proven ability to manage junior resources.
