About the Role: Director, Pricing Strategy
We're seeking an experienced Director, Pricing Strategy to join our Product Pricing Strategy team, responsible for driving product monetization and pricing strategy for Visa's value-added products and services (VAS). As a key member of this customer-centric team, you'll play a pivotal role in accelerating VAS portfolio growth, mentoring junior team members, and reporting to the VP, VAS Pricing Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Pricing and Packaging Strategies: Analyze large amounts of product data, conduct quantitative and qualitative market research, and develop pricing and packaging strategies using a value-based pricing approach, relative to competition.
- Market Insights and Competitive Analysis: Develop a deep understanding of Visa's global footprint, competition, market dynamics, and commercial constructs, and derive pricing strategies from local market insights and competitive landscape.
- Drive Business Growth: Build business cases for new monetization and packaging strategies, lead cross-functional efforts to drive initiatives to completion, and simplify pricing constructs to accelerate sales motion.
- Influence Senior Executives: Independently create executive-ready presentations and influence senior executives across multiple teams to gain alignment on recommendations.
- Measure Pricing Effectiveness: Define pricing KPIs, measure the effectiveness of pricing changes, and partner with sales operations teams to execute pricing-related updates.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Prior Experience: 10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8+ years with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3+ years with a PhD, in corporate strategy, management consulting, product strategy, or Go-To-Market strategy.
- Pricing Strategy and Payment Experience: Preferred experience in pricing strategy and payments, but not required.
- Global Matrix Organization Experience: Experience working in a global matrix organization, navigating complex structures, and empowering decision-making locally.
- B2B Selling Environment Experience: Experience supporting a B2B selling environment.
- Analytical and Decisive: Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions, balancing analysis with decisiveness.
- Financial Acumen: Ability to utilize sophisticated financial analyses to evaluate business opportunities and make strategic choices.
- Highly Analytical: Comfortable working with large datasets and conducting quantitative and qualitative market research.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional Experience: 12+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years with a PhD.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and facilitating collaboration across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Strategy organizations.
- Pragmatic Mindset: Intense focus on execution against client needs, articulation of value proposition, and concrete market-facing focus.
