Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills that demonstrate your ability to work effectively in a recreational setting. Essential qualifications include: Current First Aid and CPR certificates or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. A high school diploma or equivalent, with some positions requiring additional education or certifications. Experience working in customer service, recreation, or a related field, with some positions requiring specific experience (e.g., teaching, coaching, lifeguarding). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups and individuals. Ability to pass a background check and, for some positions, a driving records check. Preferred qualifications vary by position but may include specialized certifications (e.g., American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, fitness instructor certifications), experience working with specific populations (e.g., youth, seniors), or proficiency in a second language.
