Role Snapshot: Position: East Farms Instructional Paraprofessional (Part-time) Location: Connecticut (Remote option available) Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $22.99 to $26.87 per hour, depending on experience Start Date: Immediate openings available Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Instructional Paraprofessional to provide essential support to students, teachers, and staff at East Farms Elementary. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality instructional services, supporting student learning, and contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture. This part-time position requires 4.75 hours of work per day, throughout the school year, and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including personal days, holidays, and sick leave. Key Responsibilities: Supporting Instruction: Tutoring and instructing students under the direction of classroom teachers Supporting students during classroom group work and activities Modifying instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs Assisting students with technology and digital tools Documentation and Data: Understanding students' goals and individual needs Observing and collecting data on student progress Organizing data and writing notes/summaries Providing feedback on student work and behavior Student Management: Monitoring hallways, study halls, and common areas Reinforcing school-wide behavioral expectations Following student behavior plans and protocols Clerical and Administrative Tasks: Scheduling activities and events Copying, stapling, and preparing materials Handling records and student information with confidentiality Other Responsibilities: Completing all assigned mandated training programs Providing medical or personal care/hygiene support as needed (may require lifting up to 50 pounds) Performing other related duties as assigned Qualifications and Requirements: Essential Qualifications: Associate's degree or 2 years of college credit (or equivalent) Para Professional Assessment or equivalent certification Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students and teachers Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to carry out directions in both oral and written forms Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education or related field Prior experience working with school-age children Experience with instructional design and delivery Skills and Competencies: To succeed in this role, you will need to possess: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and staff Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Farmington Public Schools, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our staff.
