The State Library of North Carolina is seeking a well-rounded Electronics Resources Librarian to join our team! The Electronic Resources Librarian is part of the Collection Management and Access branch and provides access to Library collections through leadership in the review, selection, and maintenance of electronic resources such as databases, e-books, and e-journals. The position will develop a broad knowledge of electronic resources, will make recommendations for database trials, will compile a regular review of electronic resource usage, and will explore tools that assist with electronic and serial resource management. The position will explore potential new services such as print/purchase on demand for state employees. The position will also provide training on the use of databases for staff and patrons, run reports from the ILS and serve as the primary library contact with NC Cardinal staff.
Key Responsibilities
Work with the Collection Management team to choose new electronic databases.
Manage electronic resources by regularly collecting and analyzing data for subscription databases, Summon, and ILS, as well as setting up trials, managing access (passwords, proxy, etc.), and serving as the primary database vendor contact.
Maintain links in the proxy server, add content to Summon, troubleshoot electronic resource access problems. Serve as GHL's primary contact with NC Cardinal staff, assist staff with Evergreen ILS, and create reports from the ILS for staff.
Manage retrieval of vendor-supplied metadata in all formats and ingests into the ILS and other systems.
Serve on the web, education, and collection management teams and work collaboratively with teams such as outreach, cataloging, and reference. Update and maintain GHL's online resources web pages, A-Z database LibGuide, and ensure compliance with State Library and DNCR web guidelines.
Provide customer service duties through working scheduled weekly chat, weekly paging, outreach events, and rotating Saturday reference shifts, as assigned.

Recruitment Range: $45,431-$46,834

Demonstrated experience with data visualization tools and/or techniques.
Demonstrated experience working with library vendors and/or publishers.
Demonstrated experience creating documentation and LibGuides.
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated experience presenting training sessions and/or demos on electronic databases.
Position/Physical Requirements
Weekly work schedule, Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm and approximately three Saturdays per year.
This position is deemed eligible for hybrid telework under DNCR's Telework Policy.
Must be able to work in an environment with cool temperatures and with possible exposure to materials containing dust and mold with or without a reasonable accommodation.
