Position Purpose The Accounting Specialist plays an important role in the success of the accounting department. The responsibilities include timely and accurate funding of policies for all finance companies either by check or ACH, protecting the assets of the finance company by verifying that payments are deposited into correct bank accounts, and ensuring customer billing statements are accurate. The Accounting Specialist will also support the Accounting Specialists II by reconciling the different channels of PaaS. Duties And Responsibilities • Support balancing incoming funds and prepare outgoing settlement reconciliations for PaaS • Generate and send multiple ACH funding files to various banks through manual upload or FTP delivery • Analyze small refund checks over specified dollar amount to ensure proper application of return premiums. This involves telephone calls to insurance companies and agents • Prepare daily proof of cash for small portfolios • Prepare RTL daily deposit and upload • Assist Remittance Processing team when needed • Run month end reports for statistical reporting purposes • Post special return premium deposits • Support other department functions as needed • Calculate and prepare monthly referral fees • Generate and print checks- validate check number, quantity and quality of printed documents • Monitor and respond to emails received in accounting email • Stay on top of new hire training videos • Call in funding payments • Daily monitoring reports The Performance Of The Accounting Specialist Will Be Evaluated Based On His/her Effectiveness In Meeting The Following KPI’s In An Ongoing Basis: • Task List Timeliness: Monthly review of current task list for this position and the time it takes to complete the functions will be reviewed and updated every month, aiming for complete efficiency • Department Communications: Ensuring that all members of the team will contribute to managing accounting email in box each day if there are unanswered emails In addition to the specific duties outlined above, it is expected that every employee at Input1 demonstrates the organization's core values: Integrity, Respect, Flexibility, Self-Evaluation, Knowledge, and Compassion.
