As an Entry-Level Drinking Water Consultant, you'll play a critical role in supporting our Public Sector Division/Water Team and contributing to the development of innovative solutions for drinking water and water quality challenges.
About the Role
We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Drinking Water Consultant. This remote position will provide support for contracts with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and other government clients, focusing on drinking water and water quality topics such as PFAS and lead in drinking water, public health in schools, water system finances, and regulatory development.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct literature searches and reviews to support policy initiatives and assess the impacts of policy decisions.
- Research and synthesize information on water-related topics, including infrastructure funding and financing programs.
- Write or edit guidance documents, reports, case studies, presentations, and other materials for specific audiences.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for Cadmus project teams.
- Present material internally and assist with external meetings, such as webinars.
- Ensure project manager and client satisfaction across multiple projects in a program.
- Facilitate information sharing and planning across projects and teams.
- Support the efforts of multiple project managers and provide strategic thinking and problem-solving.
- Ensure all practices are carried out in accordance with internal QA policies.
- Support high-quality client deliverables and use quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze data.
- Develop materials for training and outreach events, including factsheets and interactive tools.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of relevant work experience or a Master's degree with coursework in public health, environmental science and policy, sciences, social sciences, economics, business administration, finance, or other relevant areas.
- Classwork or experience with EPA regulatory programs, water science, or policy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to live audiences and translate technical material for various audiences.
- Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to conduct research, collect secondary data, and analyze data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Applied experience with research activities and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Eligibility to work in the United States as a U.S. Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen, with potential requirements for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will be considered a plus:
- Experience working with government clients or in the environmental consulting industry.
- Familiarity with drinking water regulations and policies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation.
