They are seeking an Entry Level Litigation Associate Attorney to handle a litigation caseload, draft legal documents, attend court hearings, and negotiate settlements in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Proactively handle a litigation caseload from beginning to end, under the supervision and guidance of senior attorney
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
- Draft case analysis reports to clients with an eye towards developing proactive resolution strategies
- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients, demonstrating strong advocacy and negotiation skills
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment
Skills
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in the State of New York
- 1+ years of defense litigation experience
- Experience with construction (NYS Labor Law 200, 240, 241) matters, insurance defense, premises liability, and/or general liability
- Superior analytical skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage a caseload independently and responsibly
- Experience appearing in court for OSHA hearings is a plus
- Legal project management experience is helpful
