What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze resource areas included in NEPA reports, including land use, water resources, and air resources
- Research, interpret, and apply Federal environmental laws and regulations
- Draft and revise environmental reports and briefing materials for NEPA compliance
- Interface with regulatory agencies to clarify requirements and respond to inquiries
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess compliance risks and operational impacts
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Environmental Policy, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 2-10 years of experience in environmental policy or compliance
- Strong knowledge of environmental laws and regulations at Federal, State, and local levels
- Ability to analyze and assess complex regulatory requirements and technical studies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with NEPA compliance related to NRC or DOE
- Familiarity with environmental permitting processes
- Knowledge of the regulatory landscape in Ohio, Tennessee, Idaho, or Alaska
- Passion for clean energy and innovative problem-solving
- Experience in a startup or fast-paced work environment
