About the Role: Evening Customer Care Associate (Healthcare)
We're seeking a compassionate and skilled Evening Customer Care Associate to join our team. As a key member of our customer care team, you'll play a vital role in assisting members navigate the healthcare system by answering incoming calls, responding to healthcare queries, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. Key Responsibilities
- Respond to a variety of incoming calls from members, providing clear and concise guidance on healthcare-related issues and concerns.
- Develop a rapport with members quickly to understand their needs and provide personalized support.
- Determine the most appropriate resolution to member issues, escalating complex cases to internal or external resources as needed.
- Verify and update demographic information in our systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Process calls in specific queues (e.g., triage, biometric) based on assignment, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Exercise exceptional customer service skills to optimize each member interaction, ensuring a positive experience.
- Follow up with members, providers, insurance carriers, and vendors to resolve issues and ensure adherence to policies.
- Maintain thorough documentation of member interactions and issues, ensuring department files are up-to-date.
- Stay informed about and support approved departmental and corporate policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA and COBRA.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A High School Diploma or G.E.D; an Associate's degree in a relevant field (business administration, liberal arts, healthcare) is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or related industry.
- Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel, with the ability to learn our proprietary systems and technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with members from diverse backgrounds.
- The ability to pass standardized testing and interviews as part of our hiring process.
