Job Description The Executive -or- Managing Director is responsible for initiating, developing, and managing new and existing investor, consultant and advisor relationships with the intent of attracting new and additional capital commitments to the infrastructure platform as well as the broader USAA Real Estate business. Consistent with the firm’s team-oriented culture, the Executive Director-or-Managing Director will work in close communication and collaboration and with her/his colleagues directly in the Infrastructure team as well as in the Global Investors Group (GIG). The role also requires regular communication and collaboration with colleagues across the USAA Real Estate organization. The position is highly visible both internally and externally. Essential Duties: This role partners closely with the Infrastructure business on a day to day basis, being accountable for its investor and consultant relationships, as well as maintaining linkages to the GIG team for broader capital raising efforts across its suite of funds: • Prepare a strategic business development plan relating to capital and product for the Infrastructure business in consultation with the Managing Director Infrastructure and Global Head of Infrastructure and assume responsibility for all aspects of its execution in cooperation with the GIG team. • Initiate, develop, and manage investor, consultant, and advisor relationships and continuously engage with those relationships to communicate the investment strategies and performance regarding the offerings of the Infrastructure business and where relevant, the USAA Real Estate platforms. • Co-ordinate with the GIG representatives responsible for ex-US capital to ensure the full range of capital relationships are afforded to the Infrastructure capability at the right stage of its development. • Effectively execute and manage the capital raising process to contribute to achieving the goals and objectives of the Infrastructure business as well as other funds/strategies sponsored by USAA Real Estate platforms as required • Develop and maintain a deep and thorough understanding of the firm’s investment capabilities and its competitive positioning in the institutional investment management market and advise on positioning. • Clearly and openly communicate investor feedback with the Infrastructure team, GIG team and, as appropriate, other USAA Real Estate colleagues across the platforms. • Contribute to the strategic development process of new strategies to potentially be sponsored by USAA Real Estate platforms, as required. • Participate in industry functions, and share knowledge gained pertaining to investor preferences, capital flows, and emerging trends. • Perform other essential duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: • A minimum of 10 years of experience and a demonstrable track record in raising institutional capital in real assets, with a minimum of 5 years raising capital for infrastructure strategies. Experience raising capital for real estate investment management strategies in real estate equity or credit also highly regarded. • A detailed understanding of infrastructure products essential. • An energetic, creative and self-motivated individual with a strategic mindset, able to source and structure capital and sustain growth. • Knowledge of the infrastructure markets and participants along with familiarity with various property sectors across the U.S. • Experience with financial analysis, market development, and coordinating with acquisitions, accounting, and portfolio management teams to create strategy. • Excellent presentation skills, coupled with polished written and verbal communication skills. • Intelligent, extremely driven and team-oriented, bringing a collaborative approach to client development and management. • A proven ability to work effectively across cultures, functions, and geographies.
