Key Responsibilities
As the Head Coach of our competitive dance team, you will be responsible for leading the team to success in competitions and events. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing training programs to improve the team's technique, strength, and flexibility
- Creating and choreographing routines for competitions and events
- Conducting practice sessions and rehearsals to ensure the team is well-prepared for performances
- Providing feedback and guidance to team members to help them improve their skills and performance
- Collaborating with other coaches and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective team environment
- Managing the team's schedule, including practice sessions, competitions, and events
- Ensuring the team's equipment and facilities are maintained and safe for use
- Supervising and mentoring assistant coaches and other staff members
- Organizing team events, such as fundraisers, workshops, and community outreach programs
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A strong background in dance, with experience in competitive dance teams or coaching
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
- Knowledge of dance techniques, including choreography, stunting, and tumbling safety
- A State of Illinois Professional Educator License registered in Will County, or have taken the A.S.E.P. Requirements for Coaching in Illinois, or have a State of Illinois Substitute Teaching License registered in Will County
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience in choreographing and cleaning routines for competitive dance teams
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for stunting and tumbling
- Experience in organizing team events and managing budgets
- A degree in dance, education, or a related field
