About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Substitute Teacher to join our team in Brick, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of schools and students, gaining hands-on teaching experience and making a real difference in the lives of young people. Our substitute teachers are the backbone of our organization, and we are committed to providing them with the support and resources they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of subjects and grade levels, including elementary, middle, and high school
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational environment
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to achieve school goals and objectives
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful as a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will need:
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
- A NJ Substitute Credential
- A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with educational technology and software
