About the Role of a High School Credit Recovery Math Teacher We are seeking a highly qualified, state-certified educator to join our team as a High School Credit Recovery Math Teacher. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment, providing instruction, support, and guidance to students, managing the learning process, and focusing on individual student needs. Your role will involve working closely with students, parents, and learning coaches to advance each student's learning toward established goals, utilizing Stride K12's learning management system to monitor progress. Key Responsibilities Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students, committing to personalizing learning for all. Demonstrate a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations, differentiating instruction based on student level of mastery. Augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures, using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from the principal and coach. Maintain grade books to ensure student academic integrity, make student placement and promotion decisions, and alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress. Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests and understand that establishing and maintaining positive rapport with families is a primary responsibility. Regularly communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner, supporting them with student curricular and instructional issues, as well as basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree, an active state teaching license, and the ability to clear a required background check, with an endorsement in High School Math. You must also be an Arizona resident. Preferred qualifications include experience working with the proposed age group, supporting adults and children in the use of technology, and experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or brick-and-mortar environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as the ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms, is also desirable. Skills and Competencies Required for Success Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data and use it to drive instructional decisions. Receptiveness to receiving coaching on a regular basis with administrators and teacher trainers. Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
