**The Role**
We are seeking a talented Machine Learning Data Associate (MLDA) - Specialist in Chinese to join our Omni MLDA team, a division of Customer Engagement Technologies (CET). As a Bilingual Machine Learning Data Associate - Chinese, you will be responsible for driving Chinese-to-English and English-to-Chinese machine translation improvements in partnership with the Machine Learning team. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Auditing cross-language interactions on text-based channels to review and assess the quality of machine translations in each direction
* Identifying the highest priority machine translation improvement opportunities that will enhance the customer experience
* Working with Program and Product Managers to determine opportunities for optimizing the quality auditing and machine translation improvement processes
* Augmenting the customer experience through product testing and executing the machine learning roadmap for the product
**A Day in the Life**
As a Bilingual Machine Learning Data Associate - Chinese, your day will be filled with exciting challenges and opportunities to grow. You will work closely with our Machine Learning team to develop and improve our machine translation technology, ensuring that our customers can communicate effectively across languages and cultures. Your key daily activities will include:
* Localization/Translation: You will utilize your native-level translation and localization skills in Chinese to support internal and external customers and related products.
* Testing various workstreams: You will test and evaluate the quality of machine translations in each direction, identifying areas for improvement.
* Contact Reading in native language while documenting findings in English: You will review and assess the quality of machine translations, documenting your findings in English for stakeholders.
* Stakeholder management: You will work closely with Program and Product Managers to determine opportunities for optimizing the quality auditing and machine translation improvement processes.
**Essential Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
* Fluency in Chinese and English (verbal and written communication)
* 1+ years business experience in localization and translation
* Strong attention to details
* Exceptional communicational skills
* Customer service experience
* Experience working in complex and frequently-changing environments
* Ability to interpret customer need and being able to frame that as clear requirements
**Preferred Qualifications**
While not required, the following qualifications would be beneficial for this role:
* Project planning experience, including project scoping, deadline-setting, backlog maintenance, and reporting
* Bachelor's Degree
* Practical knowledge of data processing needs and trade-offs
