Key Responsibilities
- Operate ground support equipment, including tugs, forklifts, and tow tractors, to facilitate the efficient movement of cargo and mail.
- Work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuous cargo operations.
- Perform tasks in various weather conditions, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to safety.
- Load, unload, and transport cargo and mail to and from aircraft, ensuring on-time shipments and maintaining the integrity of cargo.
- Protect cargo and mail from damage, loss, and weather conditions, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Utilize scanners and computers to accurately route cargo and mail to their destinations.
- Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational procedures and techniques, even under time constraints.
- Repeatedly carry and load shipments onto carts, ensuring that each shipment reaches its destination.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
Minimal Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to drive and safely operate a forklift, baggage tug, and tow tractor.
- Proficient in English, with excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
- Project a professional image and possess basic computer skills.
- Ability to regularly lift luggage or items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds.
- Willingness to work a fixed and/or rotating schedule, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cargo or logistics environment.
