Job Summary
As the first point of contact for our customers, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional service, taking orders, answering questions, handling complaints, and troubleshooting problems. Key Responsibilities
- Assist all internal and external customers in a professional manner, maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude at all times.
- Receive requests from multiple sources (phone, fax, e-Commerce, in-person) and complete the necessary processes for equipment services.
- Coordinate home equipment service requests with Dispatch for prompt delivery, ensuring that customers receive their equipment in a timely manner.
- Engage in active listening with customers, confirming or clarifying information, and diffusing angry customers as needed.
- Provide customers with product and service information, maintaining current knowledge on Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources for equipment.
- Verify medical necessity, insurance coverage, and physician orders for all insurance-assigned services, following policy and work instructions to ensure the Billing Department has the correct paperwork to complete insurance.
- Strive to meet or exceed department metrics while providing excellent customer service, making sales or recommendations for products or services that may complement client needs, as applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 6 months of relevant customer service experience preferred, with a proven track record of providing exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage with customers, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
- Customer service orientation, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service and support to our customers.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to accurately process requests and complete necessary paperwork.
- Good data entry skills, with proficiency in computers and strong typing skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience working in a call center or customer service environment, with a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices.
