Key Responsibilities
As a Data Scientist at Walmart, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing data-driven solutions to drive business outcomes, including predictive modeling, data visualization, and statistical analysis.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, data engineers, and software developers, to design and implement data-driven solutions.
- Designing and implementing data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources, including relational databases, NoSQL databases, and cloud-based data warehouses.
- Developing and maintaining data models, including data warehousing, data mart, and data lake architectures.
- Providing data insights and recommendations to business stakeholders, including data visualization, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.
- Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data science, including machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.
What You'll Bring
To be successful in this role, you will need to bring the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data science, including data analysis, machine learning, and data visualization.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
- Experience with data engineering tools, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and text analysis.
- Experience with data visualization tools, including Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
