About the Opportunity
This is a remote, part-time opportunity with a competitive salary of $27-$35 per hour. As a member of the Data Technology Group within the Carrier Tasks Technology Division, you'll be responsible for providing test automation services related to framework test methodologies and solutions that integrate industry-standard procedures, techniques, and cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, write, and maintain automated test scripts for multiple applications within the product group
- Provide engineering support, mentor, and review testing approach and test contents of colleagues
- Collaborate with the product team to design, develop, and maintain automation functional, regression, and performance test suites
- Comply with testing best practices and security guidelines
- Investigate complex issues and implement solutions
- Participate in the entire testing project lifecycle from requirements to test executions
- Create and maintain the Quality Assurance benchmark performance achievement metrics and measure all future product deliveries against those standards
- Develop plans, methods, and projects to monitor and evaluate the accuracy and reliability of the system and ensure performance and standards are maintained
- Learn about and implement new technologies to improve application performance and security
- Effectively communicate testing status, including plans, risks, issues, defects, and potential impact
- Collaborate with leaders, analysts, IT developers, technical leads, engineers, and other QA engineers, along with internal clients, to understand requirements and test applications that meet business needs
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
- 4+ years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience working closely with product ownership and programmers to build, test, and automate testing of large-scale applications in coordinated production environments
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly preferred:
- Carrier Industry experience, including business systems and technology
- 4 years of IT and software testing experience
- Team application support insight
Skills, Licenses, and Certifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience in automated test suite maintenance, including creation of new tests, automated test planning, execution, and test logs analysis
- Hands-on experience integrating test automation into DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines
- Experience testing Angular-based web applications (Selenium, Cypress IO)
- Proficiency in technical testing tools including Jenkins, ReadyAPI, GIT, Selenium, Cucumber, Postman, Performance Center, JMeter, SoapUI, Azure DevOps
- Strong coding skills and concepts in Java, JavaScript, Gherkin (BDD), Cucumber, and Python shell scripts
- Broad experience in complex SQL and MongoDB queries
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and provide guidance to others
- Proficiency in eliciting and documenting requirements and performing quality assurance using SDLC best practices and Agile methodologies
- Understanding of cloud-native development, deployment, and orchestration: containers, Azure cloud
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to rapidly changing environments effectively
- Strong judgment and analytical skills, strong completion, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts and tailor messaging by audience, including non-technical groups
