Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Storage Administrator to oversee and maintain our data storage infrastructure, ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of our data. The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable authority in the discipline of Enterprise Data Storage Operations and Engineering, with the ability to articulate and demonstrate understanding across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Show a broad understanding of enterprise data storage environments, including SAN, NAS, and DAS technologies
- Implement and maintain enterprise backup and data security technologies to ensure data integrity and availability
- Efficiently manage and monitor reporting platforms and software to ensure optimal performance
- Define and implement strategic capacity planning techniques, based on industry standards and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application, database, server, and other technology groups, to ensure suitable storage technology and design
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Provide clear and concise documentation for both routine and sporadic tasks
- Offer technical support and guidance on complex activities, such as installation, configuration, and backup/restore operations for all systems
- Perform code updates and security patching to maintain the security of storage systems
Requirements:
- Education: Four-year degree from an accredited college in Computer Science or a related discipline (a combination of training, work experience, and education may be considered)
- Experience: 3 years of experience in data storage or a related field, with an emphasis on networking and storage protocols
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with large-scale SAN design and implementation, as well as enterprise storage administration with OEMs such as Dell EMC, Cisco, and similar
- Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of current and emerging data protection technologies
- Experience with NAS concepts and protocols (CIFS, NFS, and S3)
- Knowledge of data synchronization technologies for both SAN and NAS
- Operating system and network abilities (both Linux and Windows)
- VMWare concepts and administration
- Soft Skills:
- Ability to provide clear and well-organized documentation
- Strong organizational skills and determination in completing assigned work
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Active involvement in production equipment life-cycle management
- Extensive troubleshooting and performance monitoring abilities
