About the Role
The successful candidate will be part of the Global Merchant and Network Services (GM&NS) Pricing team, responsible for determining and reporting merchant discount income. This is a unique opportunity to influence multiple businesses and segments by aligning the organization's objective for profitable charge volume and merchant growth, vital for the health of our business. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in driving GMS revenue and profit growth through customer-driven pricing principles, more flexible pricing architecture, and innovative pricing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a Canada figure for merchant discount income and track monthly performance against forecast, identifying drivers of change.
- Develop merchant discount income scorecards for the Canada region.
- Drive standardization and process improvement among the different regional pricing teams for all reporting and forecasting related activities.
- Support external audits, including investigating issues found, contacting the regional pricing teams that manage the merchant relationship to discuss issues, and managing resolutions.
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis to assess discount rate trends and uncover insights.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- 2+ years of experience in financial services or payments industry, and/or other financial roles.
- A Bachelor's degree required, strongly preferred in Finance/Accounting/Business.
- High proficiency with Excel is required.
- Solid attention to detail and organization.
- Solid analytical skills; demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and draw value-added insights from a large amount of financial data. Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SAS/SQL) is required.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.
- A strong relationship with stakeholders and collaboration skills with the ability to influence others in situations where there may be multiple objectives.
- Solid work ethic with an extreme will-to-win, ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, which puts a premium on driving results.
- An innovative thinker who will challenge conventional approaches to getting things done and develop new ways to approach old challenges.
- Solid project management skills with full ownership from analysis through to execution.
- A passionate focus on the customer; demonstrated desire to understand and address customer needs and pain points.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize accordingly.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable:
- Experience working in a remote or virtual team environment.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques.
- Experience with financial planning and analysis software.
- Certification in finance or accounting, such as CFA or CPA.
