Job Summary and Key Responsibilities
As a Developer - Information Technology at United Airlines, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and systems to support core organizational functions. Your primary focus will be on:
- Designing, developing, and altering software applications/systems according to specifications.
- Collaborating with Business Analysts and business partners on potential software solutions for business specifications.
- Providing support to software development leads (Senior Developers) during the design phase of the SDLC.
- Supporting and troubleshooting software systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving issues, and providing follow-up on all issues and solutions.
- Developing suitable software documentation as mentioned in IDF.
- Completing unit testing on all developed/enhanced software.
- Working on one or more projects; may act as a project leader.
Data Engineering and Machine Learning
United Airlines is also seeking a Developer to join its Data Engineering team, focusing on driving data-driven insights and innovation to enable Data Engineering and Machine Learning desires for industrial and operational initiatives with a virtual focus. As a Data Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate with business partners, data scientists, and ML engineers.
- Build and manage key subsystems of the Data Platform.
- Optimize operational vital metrics and align with United-mounted preferred methodologies.
- Work with modern cloud technologies from AWS and other ecosystems.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree: Ideally in a technical or scientific field or equivalent experience, education, or training.
- Technical Skills:
- 3+ years of .Net/C# experience.
- 3+ years of AWS experience.
- 2-3 years of Microservices experience.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
