Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and ambitious Accounting Student to join our team as a Full Time or Part Time Remote Accounting Student. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting duties related to month-end processes, including financial statement preparation and analysis
- Implement and maintain proper keeping of financial records, utilizing current technologies such as NetSuite ERP system
- Input daily transaction information in NetSuite, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
- Assist with billing and customer invoicing, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing
- Perform tasks within the parameters of current processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements
- Collaborate with our team of CPAs and accounting professionals to gain exposure to Mergers & Acquisitions and other complex accounting transactions
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and reports to support business decision-making
- Provide excellent oral and written communication skills, including status updates on work with deadlines and presentations to management
Essential Qualifications
- Junior or Senior year in Accounting program with high academic performance (GPA 3.0 or higher)
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, applications, and methods, including financial statement preparation and analysis
- Strong analytical skills and ability to prepare reports, including financial modeling and forecasting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook
- Attention to detail and self-starter attitude with tenacity and drive, including the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to provide status updates on work with deadlines and presentations to management
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed related internship or co-op experience in accounting or a related field
- Experience with accounting ERP systems, including NetSuite (or similar systems such as QuickBooks or SAP)
- Knowledge of financial analysis and planning, including budgeting and forecasting
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, including Excel, Tableau, or Power BI
- Certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CFA (or in progress)
