Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated 988 Chat/Text Crisis Specialist to join our team. As a remote member of our 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention team, you will play a critical role in providing brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress. This is a full-time remote position, available to candidates based in the United States, Tennessee (USA), with a competitive salary range of $19.10-$26.80 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals in crisis
- Answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources
- Conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide
- Meet the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation requirements
- Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings
- Assist in administrative tasks as needed
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field; or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist
- Six months to one year of related crisis experience
- Effective communication skills via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods
- High-level customer service skills and professional etiquette
- Demonstrated knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources
- Knowledge of suicide assessments and skill in providing crisis intervention
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience working in a remote or virtual environment
- Familiarity with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL) and 988 services
- Training or certification in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, or mental health support
- Experience working with diverse populations and communities
