Key Responsibilities
- Teach students in grades K-12 using their customized learning plans, focusing on building a strong foundation in math concepts.
- Assist students with homework completion and provide guidance on test preparation, including SAT and ACT.
- Develop a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to ask questions, explore, and learn.
- Participate in paid training to familiarize yourself with Mathnasium's curriculum, teaching strategies, and team teaching methods.
- Work collaboratively with other instructors to ensure consistency and high-quality instruction.
- Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
- Maintain a clear and organized workspace, ensuring a conducive learning environment.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed as a Mathnasium Math Instructor, you should possess:
- Strong math proficiency up to Algebra; proficiency through Geometry and Calculus is preferred.
- An exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam, demonstrating your mastery of math concepts from 2nd grade and up.
- Availability to work at least 2 weekday shifts (3-4 hours per shift) in the afternoons after 3 pm.
- A clear record on state and national background checks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in teaching or tutoring math, particularly in a specialized math learning center.
