About the Role: Network Engineering Manager
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Network Engineering Manager to join our Technology Infrastructure team. As a Network Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in leading an agile team of engineers and business systems consultants responsible for developing innovative network hosting solutions, building capacity, and managing the lifecycle of our existing data network. Your expertise in network engineering, leadership, and automation will be instrumental in driving our technology infrastructure forward and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a team of Network Engineers providing Network Engineering and Support Services, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Actively contribute to building next-generation solutions for Network and Security Services, enhancing current service levels and driving business growth through technology.
- Effectively manage the end-to-end lifecycle of network hardware and software, including patch compliance, vulnerability management, and configuration drift management, ensuring the highest levels of security, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with peer technology managers to implement various initiatives in a team extension and product operating model, promoting cross-functional teamwork and strategic alignment.
- Proactively manage risk, including deliverables and operational issues, through the implementation of robust controls and escalation procedures, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports, assist in hiring talent, and foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance and potential.
Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- 4+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- 2+ years of Leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams and driving business results through technology.
- 2+ years of experience in automating various activities related to Network, with expertise in scripting languages, automation tools, and software development methodologies.
- 2+ years of experience in Datacenter Networking technologies, Network Virtualization, LAN switching technology, and routing protocols, with a deep understanding of network architecture, design, and implementation.
- 2+ years of experience demonstrating strong people development skills, with the ability to hire, coach, develop, and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be highly regarded:
- Experience in cloud computing, with expertise in public cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of network security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and encryption methods.
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL, and experience in implementing ITIL processes and procedures.
- Strong understanding of business operations, with experience in managing budgets, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, including technical teams, business leaders, and external partners.
