Job Summary
The Networking Engineer will be responsible for designing and improving the operating system networking components across Apple's range of products, including macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of TCP/IP and related networking technologies, as well as experience with framework-level software design. The role requires a high level of technical expertise, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop networking software and hardware products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and specifications

Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent networking programming development experience. You will also need to have:
- Experience creating business networking software and/or hardware products
- Strong programming design and development skills, including C, C++, or Objective-C programming language experience
- In-depth knowledge of the TCP/IP suite of protocols (including IPv6)
- BSD/Linux kernel network stack experience
- Network troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the essential qualifications, the following skills and experience are preferred:
- WiFi switch concepts and OpenWRT experience
- Basic understanding of IP routing concepts and protocols
- macOS and iOS development experience
- API development experience
- Wireless networking technologies and standards (Wi-Fi and cellular)
- Network debugging tools (e.g., packet sniffers, protocol analyzers)
