Key Responsibilities Teach social work courses in varying class sizes, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies and cutting-edge technologies. Assist students in achieving course objectives and learning outcomes, providing qualitative, holistic, and timely feedback to support grades received for assignments. Assist students outside the online classroom during office hours, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Participate in curriculum design and development, contributing to the growth and evolution of the social work program. Actively participate on college and/or University committees, shaping the future of GCU and its academic programs. Assist the Dean and Director in developing internal and external communities that promote the major field of study, college, and University. Engage in professional development activities, staying current in your field of expertise and contributing to the University's commitment to academic excellence. Comply with all college and University policies, maintaining high professional standards and integrity. Participate in research activities and/or collecting and analyzing data, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in your field. Participate in other administrative tasks as necessary, including preparation of reports and other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program. Two years of post-master's social work degree practice experience. Licensed Social Worker (LMSW or LCSW). Two years of instructional experience in social work at the post-secondary level. Familiarity with web-enhanced instructional tools such as Angel/Blackboard/WebCT/Halo. Ability to articulate a clear understanding of values-based education from a Christian perspective. Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills. Demonstrated teamwork, self-motivation, integrity, and commitment to maintaining high professional standards. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in Social Work or related field (psychology, counseling, sociology, etc.). Research experience with social service agencies (state or non-profit) a plus. Three years of instructional experience in social work at the post-secondary level. Three years of instructional experience in online education at the post-secondary level. Publication in peer-reviewed journals related to social work. Direct experience evaluating learner achievement, providing input into curriculum development, policy and procedure formulation, and evaluation of program effectiveness. Demonstrated excellence in teaching across multiple modalities.
