About the Role We are seeking an experienced and skilled Finance Assistant to join our small, dedicated Finance team on a part-time basis. As a Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head of Finance with the day-to-day running of financial operations and general finance enquiries. Key Responsibilities Manage the purchase ledger function efficiently and accurately, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and expenses into the accounting system Xero. Process invoices and expenses, matching purchase orders with invoices and requesting approvals as necessary. Manage payment processes for all suppliers and expenses, ensuring supporting documentation is maintained and communicated with suppliers regarding invoice queries. Maintain the purchase order log, raise purchase orders from approval requests, and set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details. Liaise with the Trustees regarding payments and agree a quarterly payment rota. Monitor monthly progress for all Grants, including reconciliations and preparation of the monthly payments. Assist the Head of Finance with the preparation of the monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations and journals, and other related ad hoc tasks. What We're Looking For We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Assistant who possesses the following qualities: AAT qualified with a proven track record in a similar role, such as Purchase Ledger Clerk. High attention to detail and ability to work within strict deadlines. High degree of accuracy and strong numeracy skills. Excellent time management skills and self-motivation. Able to manage several tasks at once and demonstrate proactive communication and team-working skills. Experience of using finance systems on a day-to-day basis, preferably Xero or similar. Experience with all Microsoft applications and databases.
