Sylvan Learning is seeking experienced part-time tutors to join our team in Tiffin, OH, and we have immediate openings available. As a part-time tutor with Sylvan, you'll have the opportunity to work with elementary students in a small group setting or one-on-one, teaching math and reading skills that will set them up for long-term success. Key Responsibilities As a part-time tutor with Sylvan Learning, your primary responsibilities will include: Teaching and Tutoring : Provide individualized instruction to elementary students in math and reading, adapting to their unique needs and learning styles. Lesson Planning : While we don't require lesson planning, you'll need to be prepared to engage students in interactive and fun learning activities. Communication : Communicate effectively with students, parents, and Sylvan staff to ensure a smooth and successful tutoring experience. Assessment and Progress Monitoring : Regularly assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet their changing needs. Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you'll need: Teaching Certificate : A valid teaching certificate or be a senior in college working towards an education degree and licensure. Teaching Experience : Proven ability to teach and engage students, preferably in a tutoring or classroom setting. Math and Reading Skills : Strong knowledge of math and reading skills, with the ability to teach these subjects to elementary students. Communication Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with Diverse Learners : Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including special needs and English language learners. Technology Skills : Familiarity with educational technology and software, including online learning platforms.
