Job Overview
In this critical role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our members, providers, and pharmacies, addressing their questions, concerns, and issues related to pharmacy benefits, claims, and prior authorizations. Key Responsibilities
- Answer questions and handle problems regarding pharmacy benefit, provider, or claim issues in a professional and courteous manner
- Handle inbound calls and make outbound calls to follow up with members, providers, and pharmacies as necessary, ensuring timely resolution of issues
- Spend approximately 90% of your time on the phones, providing empathetic customer service and support to our members
- Seek approval for overrides and prior authorizations as needed and enter them into the claims system, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- Monitor pharmacy claims processing and complete data entry of member records, maintaining up-to-date and accurate information
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities
Essential Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical healthcare industry, with a strong understanding of pharmacy benefits and claims processing
- A pharmacy technician certification is highly preferred (inactive certifications also apply), demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the field
- 1+ year(s) of PBM or health benefits experience, with a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in a high-volume call center is highly preferred, with the ability to handle multiple calls and prioritize tasks effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the field
- Advanced knowledge of pharmacy benefits, claims processing, and prior authorizations, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting
