Key Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, according to state and federal regulations.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
- Model and deliver a distinct and excellent customer experience, engaging with customers, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Develop strong relationships with our most valuable customers and provide exceptional patient care.
- Perform tasks as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including applying pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, and maintaining accurate records.
- Review and comply with Walgreen Co. policies and procedures, including the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Assist with inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription medications.
- Handle phone calls, process manual claims, and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Customer Experience
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinct and excellent customer experience.
- Develop strong relationships with our most valuable customers.
Operations
- Assist the pharmacist in the exercise of pharmacy, according to state, federal, and company policy.
- Perform tasks as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager.
- Review and comply with Walgreen Co. policies and procedures, including the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Assist with inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription medications.
- Handle phone calls, process manual claims, and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Education and Personal Development
- Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the specific PTCB training program and/or state-required certification/registration.
- Attend training and complete PPLs requested by the supervisor and acquire continuing education credit.
- Continue knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including current information and trends.
- Through completion of the Walgreens pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, experience qualifies for 8 college credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE).
Essential Qualifications
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a related field.
- PTCB certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
