Job Overview
As a Quality Engineer at blithequark, you will play a critical role in executing quality assurance (QA) for designing exercises and quality control (QC) for creation and producing support. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting designing and quality groups, planning and executing surveys of testing exercises, and fostering detailed test plans for all periods of item testing. You will also be involved in various quality-related activities, such as participating in Bill of Plan evaluations, creating and maintaining technical documents, and researching test failures through data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Support designing and quality groups to ensure the highest standards of quality are met
- Plan and execute surveys of testing exercises for advancement and conformance
- Foster detailed test plans for all periods of item testing, including test methodology, experiments, and survey results
- Participate in Bill of Plan evaluations, CTS, DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, CTR, and other quality-related activities
- Provide analysis from tests led and verifiable data to inform quality improvement initiatives
- Create, maintain, and improve technical documents, formats, and test development schedules
- Research test failures through data analysis and risk of failure in the field to identify areas for improvement
- Support warranty claims for internal data and be mindful of potential risks in design/producing that could impact customer quality
- Collaborate with the engineering team, quality department, manufacturing, and production to ensure seamless quality assurance processes
- Perform capability studies, gage R&R, and lead failure analysis procedures and design quality records
- Provide QA during item improvement/research and development and QC support during manufacturing and production
- Have knowledge of PPAP, APQP, and other quality approval processes
- Review and execution of customer requirements SOR or Technical specifications/requirements
- Coordinate engineering and pre-production builds
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills that align with the requirements of the position. The essential qualifications include:
- 2+ years of experience in QA/QC, approval, testing, item advancement, or a related field
- BS or equivalent science degree; no degree with adequate experience will also be considered
- Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, practices, and standards
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in technical documentation, data analysis, and quality management tools
Preferred qualifications include experience with PPAP, APQP, and other quality approval processes, as well as knowledge of industry-specific quality standards and regulations.
