About the Role
As an RCM Billing Account Manager, you'll be responsible for managing a team of professionals who work on billing and RCM accounts. Your primary goal will be to ensure seamless communication with clients, team members, and coworkers, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency in the billing process. You'll be the key point of contact for clients, providing timely and effective solutions to their queries and concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with clients to answer all questions, inquiries, and messages within one business day
- Meet or communicate regularly with the client to ensure their needs are met and expectations are exceeded
- Create monthly reports to share with clients, providing a clear and concise overview of their billing and RCM accounts
- Manage a team of professionals assigned to accounts, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure they meet their goals and objectives
- Oversee the entire RCM billing process, ensuring all tasks are completed timely and accurately, and identifying areas for improvement
- Communicate with clients or team members regarding needs, concerns, common denials, coding corrections, and other issues that may arise
- Create proactive processes and software setup to streamline the billing process, increasing efficiency and reducing errors
- Create a positive team environment with an open communication culture, fostering collaboration and teamwork
- Set clear goals for team members, delegate tasks, and set deadlines to ensure they meet their objectives
- Oversee day-to-day operations, monitoring team performance and reporting on metrics to ensure the team is meeting its goals
- Motivate team members, providing recognition and rewards for high performance and achievements
- Discover training needs and provide training and coaching to ensure team members have the skills and knowledge required to succeed
- Listen to team members' feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise
- Notify management and create transition plans for any change in team member assignments
- Assess new clients/projects, create a kick-off plan, and get approval from RCM Managers to ensure a smooth onboarding process
Qualifications and Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess the following qualifications and requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- At least 5 years of previous experience with medical billing, with a strong understanding of medical terminology, including ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Ability to interpret an EOB (Explanation of Benefits) and understand deductibles, co-insurances, and co-pays
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to organize work and perform duties with a high level of accuracy
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and Microsoft Excel, Google Drive
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and interpret information and speak fluent English
