About the Emergency Department

As a team member in our Emergency Department, you will have the opportunity to deliver quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. You will be responsible for performing basic skills per department guidelines and communicating observations to members of the healthcare team. Our Emergency Department is a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional patient care and are able to work effectively in a team-based setting.

Scope of Work

As a Nurse Technician in our Emergency Department, you will be responsible for acting as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Collecting and reporting physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider
• Performing basic skills per department guidelines, such as taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, and catheterization
• Acting as a safety attendant for patients and ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Ensuring that the required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner
• Communicating effectively with members of the healthcare team to ensure that patients receive high-quality care

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required, or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required

Preferred qualifications include:

• Previous experience working in an Emergency Department or similar healthcare setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based setting and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate electronic medical records
