A Typical Day as a Remote Tax Professional

As a Remote Tax Professional at H&R Block, you'll play a critical role in delivering exceptional client experiences and driving business growth. You'll work closely with our expert team to provide virtual support to clients with diverse tax needs, leveraging our advanced tax training and technology. Your day will be filled with:

• Conducting tax interviews with clients and supporting do-it-yourself online tax clients through virtual tools, such as video conferencing, phone, chat, and email.
• Generating business growth, increasing client retention, and offering additional products and services to meet client needs.
• Collaborating with leaders and peers to share best practices, coordinate results, and drive team success.
• Continuously developing your tax expertise and staying up-to-date on the latest tax laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Your Expertise

To succeed as a Remote Tax Professional at H&R Block, you'll need:

• Experience completing individual tax returns and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Access to high-speed, reliable internet and proficiency in technology, specifically MS Teams and Outlook.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to convey complex tax situations concisely via phone, email, and chat.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research information using various tax and publication tools.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent.
• A high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for higher education or relevant certifications.
• Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours a week during peak tax season and meet all IRS and applicable state requirements.

It Would Be Even Better If You Had...

While not required, the following qualifications and experience would be a significant plus:

• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification.
• Experience completing complex tax returns and conducting virtual tax interviews.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax.
• Tax planning and audit support experience.
• Sales and/or marketing experience.
