Job Summary
The Retail Customer Service Associate at blithequark is a critical role that requires a unique blend of customer service, sales, and operational skills. As a Store Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and solutions to our customers, utilizing your knowledge of our products and services to meet their individual needs. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a positive customer experience by utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions to meet customer needs
- Provide customer expertise in printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines, recommending appropriate blithequark products and services
- Take complex customer orders using order systems and provide accurate pricing information
- Assemble parcels and prepare goods for shipping, ensuring that all packages are properly wrapped, labeled, and dispatched
- Set up and operate printing, binding, and other related equipment, using customer-supplied original media and documents
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly retail store, adhering to all blithequark standards and procedures
- Process financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal (POS), including handling cash and making change
- Clean, repair, and stock all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies to provide optimal performance and availability
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- 6+ months of specialized experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a retail environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members
- Ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods, and move and lift 55 pounds
- Ability to bend/twist at the waist and knees, and perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure, and maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail environment, preferably in a customer service or sales role
- Knowledge of print, signs & graphics, and shipping products and services
- Experience with Point of Sale terminals (POS) and financial transactions
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and report regularly to work, maintaining established business hours
