About the Role
As a Sales Associate - Outside Lawn & Garden, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our customers, assisting with home improvement projects, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked store environment. You will be the face of Lowe's, and your friendly and professional demeanor will make our customers feel welcome and valued. Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming customers to Lowe's and assisting with their home improvement project needs
- Validating loading tickets and processing orders and deliveries accurately
- Engaging in safe work practices and encouraging others to do the same
- Delivering excellent customer service by listening to customers, using expertise to help customers, and loading merchandise for customers
- Remaining vigilant and reporting any safety or security concerns around the entrance of the store
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Assisting customers with their purchases, including answering questions, providing product information, and making recommendations
- Maintaining a clean and safe store environment, including the outside lawn and garden area
- Processing transactions, handling customer complaints, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
- Collaborating with other sales associates and store employees to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service
- Staying up-to-date with product knowledge, including features, benefits, and applications
What We're Looking For
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, have a strong work ethic, and are able to work in a fast-paced retail environment. If you have:
- 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets
- Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- 6 months of sales experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits
- 6 months of retail experience providing customer service, including identifying and resolving customer issues, assisting customers in locating product, greeting customers, answering phones, building relationships with customers, and thanking customers for their business
- Bi-lingual skills, if applicable to the store
- Certification in a trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials)
