Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Secondary English Language Development Teacher to manage virtual instructional programs for students with limited English proficiency. As an ELD Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and delivering instruction and assessments that focus on the development of English Language proficiency in reading, writing, academic language, and English standards. You will work closely with content teachers, learning coaches, and students to ensure that each child successfully completes their instructional program. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver instruction and assessments that focus on the development of English Language proficiency in reading, writing, academic language, and English standards.
- Review curriculum and devise alternate approaches to presenting lessons to increase student understanding (working directly with students and parents).
- Grade assignments and assessments in a timely manner consistent with CCA policy.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with English and non-English speaking parents to ensure their students' needs are being met.
- Collaborate regularly with general and special education teachers and provide support in creating appropriate modifications to the curriculum and instructional strategies to meet each child's linguistic and developmental levels.
- Document instructional modifications, State Testing Accommodations, and other pertinent information to each child's records within the school's Learning Management System.
- Maintain certification for and administer WIDA Screener tests throughout the year and communicate with EL specialist for appropriate placement.
- Assist with yearly ACCESS test administration and complete yearly trainings.
- Develop and deliver professional development to staff related to English learners.
- Maintain accurate data in the school's Learning Management System.
- Assist with administering state testing.
- Monitor and document progress of former English Learners during their mandated monitoring periods.
- Implement and monitor the students' progress in the i-Ready adaptive reading program, including communicating with the families regarding the completion of i-Ready assignments and communicating the data from the formative, diagnostic, and summative assessments to help teachers make informed decisions about modifications and adaptations to the existing curriculum.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. You will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This is a largely sedentary role that requires the ability to lift, squat, sit, bend, or stand as necessary. You may be required to travel to other sites/locations as needed.
Education and Experience
To be eligible for this role, you must possess the following education and experience:
- Valid ESL K-12 Program Specialist Certificate in Pennsylvania.
- Valid English 7-12 Certificate in Pennsylvania.
- Experience in ESL Instruction.
- Individuals fluent in Spanish are preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
In addition to the above qualifications, you must also possess:
- A valid PA Driver's License.
- Appropriate Automobile Insurance Coverage.
