Key Responsibilities
- Research and advise on legal and compliance risks related to online multijurisdictional pharmacy operations
- Collaborate with the business to develop effective risk mitigation strategies
- Draft and negotiate contracts with pharmacy and healthcare product suppliers
- Support the healthcare compliance team with compliance initiatives and interpreting relevant laws and regulations
- Review and manage general investigation work product on state and federal legislation, including 50-state surveys
- Review pharmacy and healthcare-related marketing, promotional, and advertising materials
- Review and assist in the resolution of customer complaints
- Lead a team to support regulatory and compliance issues related to healthcare matters
- Collaborate with various areas of the Legal Division and provide timely and meaningful guidance to all areas and levels within Chewy Healthcare
- Work with and manage external legal counsel
- Monitor legislation identified as potentially impacting operations and develop advice on that potential business impact
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- 3+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a corporate or healthcare setting
- Admission to the Florida Bar or the ability to obtain an in-house license
- 3+ years of in-house experience, with a proven track record of managing others
- Experience with online or mail-order pharmacy operations is highly desirable
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear and concise language
- Strong analytical skills, combined with a practical, business-savvy, and strategic approach
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
