A Day in the Life
As a Senior Instrument Sales Representative, your day will be filled with a variety of challenging and rewarding tasks. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Meeting and exceeding sales forecasts in your assigned geographic territory through the pursuit of new sales opportunities and the establishment of strong business relationships with current and future clients.
- Demonstrating strong technical acuity in areas such as qPCR, dPCR, and Capillary Electrophoresis, and using this expertise to craft impactful account and territory plans that drive business success.
- Managing sales funnels, seeking new prospects, and successfully closing deals to contribute to revenue growth and market expansion.
- Collaborating with customers to understand their scientific project and business needs, and positioning our solutions to meet these needs and win business.
- Promoting and selling consumables, and leading the sales process, including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking through the use of Salesforce and other designated IT tools.
Keys to Success
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills. Some of the key requirements include:
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of sales experience in the Life Science industry, with at least 1 year of capital equipment experience.
- Knowledge of qPCR, dPCR, Sanger sequencing, and/or microarray, and experience selling to academic, pharmaceutical, and biotech accounts.
- Scientific consulting competence, with the ability to demonstrate technical credibility and collaborate with customers on technology solutions.
- Capital sales competence, with a consistent track record of navigating sophisticated sales cycles, overcoming objections, and securing high-value deals.
- Business acuity, with dedication to meticulous territory planning, market knowledge, accurate and timely forecasting, and the development of business plans to meet or exceed business goals.
