Role Overview
As a Site Reliability Engineer at Workwarp, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our network infrastructure. You will be responsible for participating in all aspects of support, pre and post-deployment validation, and delivering reliable networking solutions for our clients and partners. Our network operates on SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud), which enables us to run the same software stack across hardware and ASICs from different switch vendors. Your expertise in network engineering, automation, and cloud infrastructure will be essential in driving our team's success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional support and troubleshooting services to our clients and partners, ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues and adherence to Service Level Agreement KPIs.
- Collaborate with our engineering team to resolve escalations and bugs, and contribute to the development of knowledge articles, troubleshooting guides, and internal documentation.
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and other network devices, using configuration and operational expertise with Network Switches/Routing Platforms running IOS, JunOS, or EOS.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using languages such as Python, Go, or Ruby, and utilize tools like Ansible, Chef, or Terraform to streamline network operations and infrastructure as code.
- Work closely with our customers to troubleshoot and isolate root causes of technical issues, providing timely and effective resolutions and sharing knowledge on containers (Docker/Kubernetes), cloud infrastructure services, and data center networking technologies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in network engineering, cloud infrastructure, and automation, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve our services and operations.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 7-10 years of experience in support and troubleshooting, ideally with customer-facing interaction.
- Strong configuration and operational expertise with network switches/routing platforms running IOS, JunOS, or EOS, and experience with solving problems in large-scale network environments with overlay technologies (BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN).
- Intellectual curiosity, a positive attitude, flexibility, analytical ability, self-motivation, and a team-oriented mindset, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A deep understanding of network engineering and Linux, with experience working with various network operating systems, and a strong foundation in computer science concepts and scripting methodologies.
- Familiarity with Open Network products, such as Mellanox switches, Cumulus Linux, Mellanox Onyx, or SONIC network operating systems, and Linux and Networking Certifications (CCNP, CCIE, RHCE) are desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience with traffic generators, such as Spirent and IXIA, and protocol analyzers, with the ability to analyze data traces and provide insightful feedback.
