About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Special Education Substitute Teacher to join our team in Wheat Ridge, CO. As a Special Education Substitute Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives while enjoying a competitive salary, flexible work arrangements, and a supportive work environment. Our company is committed to providing the highest pay rates among special education substitute providers, with up to $273 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow and teach lesson plans provided by the regular teacher
- Instruct based on subject and grade-specific curriculum
- Monitor and assess student achievements and outcomes
- Exercise classroom and behavior management skills
- Share your specialized knowledge to coach staff and support special education students
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Active Teaching license with a special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s)
- Substitute Authorization (must have or be in the process of obtaining if license is expired)
- Three References with one by a previous direct supervisor
- Complete a Background Check for Scoot Education (you'll be reimbursed for the cost on your first paycheck!)
- Complete a Background Check for the Colorado Department of Education (to receive your Substitute Authorization; you will not be reimbursed for the cost)
