Available Roles Cook As a Cook at Denny's, you'll be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food to order, following our established brand standards and recipe specifications. You'll work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, maintaining proper food temperatures, managing inventory, and ensuring a clean and safe workspace. Prepares, cooks, and presents food to order following established company brand standards, guidelines, and recipe specifications. Follows correct prepping procedures, utilizing prep charts, and maintains proper food temperatures. Maintains stock to shift par levels, correctly calls the wheel when necessary, and organizes and maintains work areas. Assists with product inventory and deliveries, cleans and takes proper care of equipment, and adheres to safe food handling principles. Server As a Server at Denny's, you'll be the face of our restaurant, greeting, seating, and serving guests in a friendly and courteous manner. You'll be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and handling payments, all while maintaining a clean and organized dining area. Greetings guests immediately upon arrival and acknowledges them at departure. Assists with guests' seating, suggestively sells, and achieves guest check average targets. Accurately enters orders on the point of sale system, prepares beverage orders, and delivers food and beverage orders timely. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the dining room and service area, completes required side-work, and provides prompt and courteous service. Shift Manager As a Shift Manager at Denny's, you'll be responsible for supervising a team of crew members, ensuring the smooth execution of restaurant operations during your shift. You'll focus on guest satisfaction, employee development, and maintaining brand standards. Assists the General Manager by overseeing assigned shifts, monitoring brand standards execution, and directing hourly staff. Develops and coaches hourly employees on brand standards, corporate policies, and procedures. Works with the General Manager to attract, hire, onboard, and retain competitive hourly talent. Brings employee relations issues and deviations from brand standards to the attention of the General Manager and recommends corrective action. General Manager As a General Manager at Denny's, you'll be responsible for the overall restaurant operations execution, management of staff, controllable profit plan achievement, and guest count growth. You'll focus on employee selection, retention, and development, as well as maintaining a strong commitment to hospitality and guest satisfaction. Directs restaurant operations, with responsibility for guest service, brand standards execution, and employee training. Achieves controllable profit and cash flow goals by overseeing all controllable costs and taking corrective action. Ensures timely implementation, training, and ongoing execution of corporate initiatives and marketing promotions. Develops Restaurant Managers and hourly employees through corporate training programs and individual development plans. Requirements and Qualifications To succeed in our various roles, you'll need to possess certain skills and qualifications. Here are some of the key requirements: Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs (Cook and Shift Manager) or 30 lbs (Server). Sufficient mobility to move and operate in confined work areas. Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a 4 or 8 hour shift. Good hearing and ability to respond to employee and guest needs in a loud environment. Knowledge of menu products and ability to work with potentially hazardous chemicals. Ability to operate a point-of-sale system and differentiate between monetary denominations (Server and Shift Manager).
