About the Role
As a Technology Project Manager II at ASD, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation of technology projects that enhance teaching and learning experiences. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage project lifecycles, and ensure that technology initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple Project Management Office projects from initiation to close, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Analyze business needs and develop comprehensive project plans to achieve expected outcomes.
- Create project charters outlining scope, objectives, stakeholders, requirements, risks, schedule, budget, and project authorization.
- Oversee tasks, decisions, issues, changes, training plans, support plans, testing plans, and procurement activities.
- Monitor and control project scope, schedule, risks, resources, quality, and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyze inter-dependencies between technology, operations, and business/education needs to ensure alignment.
- Coordinate project activities and communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate knowledge of project management lifecycle, agile methods, software implementation, and testing techniques.
- Apply effective stakeholder and change management practices and communication strategies.
- Perform project evaluations and assessments of results to identify areas for improvement.
- Comply with ASD policies, project standards, and state, federal, and local laws and regulations.
- Prepare memorandums, status updates, and conduct presentations for the Anchorage School Board.
- Influence and promote change, enhancing performance within a cross-functional environment.
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including ASD personnel, vendors, and partners.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience, education, or training may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
- A minimum of 4 years of project management experience, with a focus on technology projects.
- A minimum of 2 years of information technology experience, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve common objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
To stand out as a candidate, you should possess:
- Current Project Management Institute (PMI) certification, such as PMP or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP).
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification or equivalent agile experience.
- Knowledge of PMI's project management lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Experience working with educational institutions, preferably in a similar role.
- Familiarity with ASD's technology infrastructure and educational systems.
