Imagine being part of an organization that is dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology and empowering high school girls and non-binary students to pursue careers in computer science and engineering. At Girls Who Code, we believe that all girls have the interest and ability to code, and we are seeking enthusiastic and experienced computer science instructors to join our team for the 2025 Summer Immersion Program. As a virtual instructor, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our students, providing them with the skills, resources, and support they need to succeed in the tech industry.
Our virtual Summer Immersion Program is a unique and innovative approach to education, offering students from across the country and around the world the opportunity to participate in a 2-week virtual class that includes synchronous and asynchronous instruction, alongside college and career exploration opportunities. The program is designed to educate, inspire, and equip our students with the skills and resources they need to pursue academics and careers in technology and engineering, as well as build bravery and confidence. With two rounds of the program throughout the summer, and a week of preparation time in between, this is an exciting and challenging opportunity for instructors who are passionate about computer science and education.
Please read carefully: to be considered for this role, you must be able to commit to both rounds of teaching, plus each week of preparation time ("Week Zero"). All classrooms will be operating on a universal schedule, and during the two weeks of the program, synchronous class, Partner Engagements, and other synchronous duties will take place from 11:30 AM - 6:00 PM EDT, and staff must be online and present during this time frame. Additionally, there are some asynchronous tasks that staff will have flexibility on when to complete them during the work week.
This summer, we will also be offering a limited number of classrooms for International students that are staffed by domestic-based staff. These classrooms will start at 8:00 AM ET, and staff must be online and present from 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM ET. Candidates interested in working in an International classroom must also attend an International Teaching Team Meetup that will take place on June 27th. If you are interested in working in International Classrooms, please indicate this in your application.
