Job Description We are seeking experienced virtual math and/or Algebra I tutors to join our Fall 2023 tutor pool for the upcoming school year. Key Responsibilities As a Littera tutor, your key responsibilities will include: Indicating your availability to tutor, without minimum or maximum requirements Completing curriculum reviews for the lesson content you would like to use in sessions Tutoring students virtually in a 1:1 - 1:3 setting Building relationships with students located across the United States Reviewing provided lesson content materials Impact a student’s learning experience! Requirements To be successful as a Littera tutor, you will need to meet the following requirements: Relevant experience working with school-age learners in some capacity Relatively consistent calendar ongoing availability that will support a session series from week to week at the same time with the same student(s) in this Littera high-impact tutoring program A confident knowledge of at least one of the following: algebra I, algebra II, geometry, or pre-algebra Ability to effectively instruct and engage students with clear communication and interpersonal skills A high comfort level with online virtual tools and technology Desktop or Laptop using the Chrome browser, a video camera, a reliable/stable internet connection You must reside in the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but college students are welcome to apply with 1+ years of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working with students in a tutoring or teaching capacity Knowledge of curriculum and instructional design principles Experience with online virtual tools and technology Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Skills and Competencies To be successful as a Littera tutor, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As a Littera tutor, you will have the opportunity to: Develop your skills and expertise in math and/or Algebra I Gain experience working with students in a tutoring or teaching capacity Develop your knowledge of curriculum and instructional design principles Improve your communication and interpersonal skills Enhance your ability to work independently and as part of a team Gain experience working with online virtual tools and technology Work Environment and Company Culture As a Littera tutor, you will work remotely with a consistent schedule.
