Platform Consultant (Expert) – Platform Engineering & Cloud Architecture

Salary Range: $134,000 – $209,750 + benefits
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Platform Consultant (Expert) to help design, build, and evolve modern application and data platforms at enterprise scale. This role blends hands-on engineering, architectural leadership, and strategic consulting, enabling teams to adopt cloud-ready architectures, modern development practices, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities.
You will partner closely with engineering, product, security, and operations leaders to ensure platforms are scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with long-term technology strategy. Key Responsibilities
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to engineering and product teams on platform architecture, modernization, and best practices
• Influence engineering roadmaps, backlogs, and design decisions through strong stakeholder partnerships
• Bridge business and technical strategy, ensuring alignment across product and platform roadmaps
• Design and implement platform services using .NET Core, modern APIs, microservices, and cloud-native patterns
• Build and optimize SQL-based data solutions, including schema design, performance tuning, and integrations
• Evaluate and integrate AI/ML capabilities into platform services (automation, intelligent workflows, model consumption)
• Lead platform assessments, risk analysis, and high-priority architectural decision-making
• Support CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, and automation to improve developer experience and delivery speed
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to meet regulatory and governance requirements
• Mentor engineers, contribute to platform standards, and promote knowledge sharing across teams
Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or solution architecture
• Strong expertise in .NET Core, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
• Deep experience with SQL (T-SQL, stored procedures, relational modeling, performance tuning)
• Solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven problem-solving skills in fast-paced, evolving environments
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries
• Exposure to event-driven architectures, messaging systems, or streaming platforms
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, Azure AI services, or MLOps
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Background in platform governance, enterprise architecture, or reference architectures
