Do you have a heart for children, youth, and families? We're looking for a Family Ministries Director to help guide the next generation in faith and build strong connections across all ages.
• Oversee family ministries in the congregation
• Recruit, train, equip, and oversee volunteer leaders for family ministries
• Provide support to equip parents in discipling their children.
• Provide a safe, inclusive, Christian experience for and ensure all church policies pertaining to youth and children are followed in your programming.
• Attend and participate in worship services and family ministry church events
• Organize and work with lead pastor and Tapestry Churches for confirmation process
• Promote and oversee the presentation of Conference camping programs
• Provide a supporting role to the Preschool as connection to the church.
• Attend staff meetings as scheduled and work together with other staff members to ensure a strong team environment
• Utilize staff communication tools, including email, calendar, and shared documents
• May on occasion be required to perform duties other than those specifically listed in this description
Peer-to-Peer
• Work with the Peer-to-Peer committee and the pastor to oversee Peer-to-Peer programing implementation at DeKalb High School.
• Be present or provide adult supervision at Peace Clubs (weekly during the school year).
• Regularly attend Peer-to-Peer committee meetings.
• Work with Pastor to schedule Peer-to-Peer youth training, curriculum oversight, and scheduling.
Time Required: 40 hour week, including evenings and weekends as necessary
Qualifications/Special Skills: Experience and training in youth ministry, education or similar background; college degree strongly preferred; experience in building team leaders of all ages; knowledge and skill with multimedia presentation software and general computer technology; understanding and support of the United Methodist Church
A commitment to advocacy
Base Salary 47,000 and up dependent upon qualifications.
