What the role involves:
We're looking for a highly motivated Financial Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified ACA professional to play a crucial role in managing our financial operations and supporting the strategic growth of the Midnight network. You'll be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, contributing to our budgeting processes, and staying ahead of evolving regulations in both accounting and digital assets. This is a remote position.
- Managing external accountants and the foundation’s bookkeeping, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, PL statements, and comprehensive reporting packs to provide clear financial insights.
- Assisting the Financial Controller with the management of budgets, contributing to financial planning and control.
- Overseeing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.
- Reviewing and approving expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Assisting with cash flow management, contributing to the effective use of financial resources.
- Partnering with the department leads to support forecasting and the implementation of robust cost control logic.
- Keeping up to date with changes in accounting and digital asset regulations, ensuring the Foundation's financial practices remain compliant and current.
Requirements
Who you are:
- A highly motivated newly/exam qualified ACA member based in the UK.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS.
- Excellent Excel skills, with the ability to manage and analyze complex financial data.
- A solution-oriented mindset, capable of independently resolving unstructured issues and finding effective solutions.
- The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and present financial information clearly and concisely.
- Basic understanding of digital assets and blockchain technology.
- The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly communicative, and comfortable using digital tools to collaborate across distributed teams. This includes but is not limited to:
- Proven ability to work independently and effectively in a remote work environment.
- Strong communication and time management skills in a remote setting.
- A reliable internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
